[Action: Crowe's been in a miserable mood the last few days. If anyone inquires about it, he'll wave it off, though. But in an effort to cheer himself up - and to head off any shenanigans Mayfield has in store for the fourteeth - Crowe will be out on the town today handing out Valentine's gifts to everyone. He'll be walking around the downtown area shops and the park. Even if he doesn't know you, he'll pass one off to you with a smile and a "Happy Valentine's Day". Actually, the events that are documented in it are true. I've been here for most of them.

It's hard to offer physical proof. Things in Mayfield get fixed too fast. Hazmats burned down my house but it was back to normal in two days. I've been killed four times, but here I am in one piece. Other people might have clues from Westport or Maipole, but I'm not one of them, I'm afraid.

It doesn't sound like it would be pleasant. Regardless, such things cannot be explained by magecraft. It is impossible.

I don't know how they do it. But some of the people in charge here can... they can do a whole lot, really. I've seen the police chief appear from nowhere, teleport several yards onto a roof, take someone's weapon and drone them before that person had so much of a chance to speak to him.

Well, that isn't too out of the ordinary for magic. One can enhance their speed easily. I'm just not sure about the immortality aspect of it.

There's others in this town who are well-versed in magic. You might want to ask around and see what they say.

I take it by your replies though that you are not proficient in magic yourself?

Right. Sometimes I think I'm one of the only people in town without magic, or some sort of supernatural ability.

I'm sure that can't be true. Most of the civilians in this town can't use magic, right?

Nothing wrong with living a normal life. You don't have to worry about tiny things like heirs and accidentally casting spells.

Mostly everyone has some sot of an ability. Amongst my friends here... one uses psychic abilities, one's the son of a god, one has some sort of invisible creature he commands, one's a fairy, some are personifications of nations... see what I mean?

I-I guess. Sometimes when here, though, I wish I had something that could help myself or others out better.

Interesting, but you realize you have the power of those abilities too in a sense. By being their friend, you can always ask for their assistance if you need.

While I know they'll help me, and I'm glad to have them as friends, I'd rather be able to handle things on my own, if I can... I don't want them to worry about me.
