I've been following the target for a week now, and I have some information for you all. Kay, Zidane, I can talk to you both at lunch or after school sometime. I can stop by sometime and speak to you in person, um, your Majesty.

[Action: Crowe's been in a miserable mood the last few days. If anyone inquires about it, he'll wave it off, though. But in an effort to cheer himself up - and to head off any shenanigans Mayfield has in store for the fourteeth - Crowe will be out on the town today handing out Valentine's gifts to everyone. He'll be walking around the downtown area shops and the park. Even if he doesn't know you, he'll pass one off to you with a smile and a "Happy Valentine's Day". It's just 4 small heart-shaped sugar cookies, wrapped in red cellophane. Enjoy your sweets, Mayfield!]

[He smiles.] Well, I'd like to think they're good. I've been practicing a lot.

"Well, I'll eat it and then I'll tell you if it's good. And if it is, I'll probably come by your house and make you bake more."

I could always use more practice. I'm learning to cook too, but I can't guarantee that will turn out as well.

"Alright then. Tank doesn't know how to cook and he's stupid so I've had to mostly fend for myself."

Tank? Is that one of your housemates? Mine aren't around much... Ash is helpful, but Lark and Hol are generally scarce. Mukuro's been droned for awhile now, so I guess he's gone for good.

"Yes, my so-called father."

Ah. Sounds like you don't get along, yeah?

"Good guess." [she shrugs]

"But there are a few nice and non-stupid people around. Like you."

[He smiles at that.] Thanks. You're not so bad yourself.

[she laughs a little]

"Not too many people say that about me. I know I'm tough on people, but I just want them to be better."

Well that's a noble cause, at least.

[she shrugs.]

"I'm not trying to be. I just want them to be noble. Mou! Especially the captain."

The captain?

"The big drunk superhero guy! Doesn't everyone know him?"

Oh, that man. Yeah, I've met him. He, uh, must be a handful.

"That's one way of putting it. If only his mind was as strong as his fists, we might be out of here by now."

I suppose that could be said about a lot of people here...

"Yeah." [she sighs and looks at Crowe.]

"What's wrong with you? You're forcing yourself, somehow. I can't tell what about, though."

[He worried if he's really that transparent. Protip: he is.]

Ah. It's nothing, really.

"Well, you helped me. I want to help you, even if I can only listen. So tell me." [she gives him her best stare.]

[He tries to smile a bit.] Really, there's nothing anyone can do about things Mayfield does so... i-it's okay.

"I disagree with that, but I see your point. Just don't... give up on yourself. That's what stupid people do. And you're not. You're still alive, and you're still capable of thinking. As long as those two things are there, you can win."

[He thinks it over, and nods a little. Mayfield is jading him, and even though he has a hard time believing in that, he knows she's right.]

I-I know. Thanks.

"Let's go do something fun. You pick it. A guy who's been here a while probably knows SOME fun things to do. Even if it's just throwing rocks at something just to watch it break."

Well, there's too much snow around for most sports, but I think the basketball court is cleared off.

[Good luck playing against a guy who's about a foot and a half taller than you.]
