[Today in the park, Crowe can be seeing leaping about trees! Well, sort of. He's climbing up and down them as fast as he can, timing himself as he does so with a stopwatch. He's pretty fluid, and after a few runs in one tree, he has it down to a matter of seconds. Once he accomplishes that, he moves on to the next one, doing the same. He looks exhausted, but pleased once he checks his times. He's breaking his old records.

Later, he'll be found practicing a tightrope walk. He's just using a regular rope tied between two trees for now, only a few feet off the ground. He does alright but he's new at this, and falls off a lot. Most of the time he manages to land on his feet, but he does slip on occasion. But he'll get back up and try, try again. Practice makes perfect.

Crowe's been a bit closed off from everyone lately, thanks to basically living at the park. And after the droning of three of his friends in a short amount of time - the hardest on him being Massimo's - he wonders if he should have listened to Ichobod's advice from many months back about not making too many friends here. It didn't make things any easier when this happened.

Of course, this doesn't mean he isn't free for talking/ridicule/question what the hell he's up to since he's in a public park.]

[She's got a trained thief on her trail, and he'll track down by the sound of the leaves. After a few minutes he'll finally catch up to her, laughing.]

Ah ha! Gotcha! You really had me going there for awhile.

[Aisling laughs as well. It's been a while since she's played a good old-fashioned game of hide and seek.]

Ohh, you got me! I thought you wouldn't be able to find me.

It wasn't easy. You're pretty good at this.

[He sits down on a nearby branch, catching his breath. He takes the stopwatch from his pocket and clicks it off, since he was originally timing himself on another speed trial.]

Of course not. I'm the fastest!

[Ooh, a mysterious foreign object! She leans closer to look at his stopwatch.] What's that?

[identity profile] perfektsymmetry.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
But I'm pretty fast too, you know!

Ah, this? It's a stopwatch. I'm using it to time myself to see how fast I can make it up and down these trees. I've gotten a lot faster at climbing in these last few months here.

[He'll click it to reset it, then start it again, handing it to her.]

[She turns it over in her hands in a way that kind of reminds one of a monkey looking at a piece of fruit.]

Ohh. So it can tell time, then? And how much time has passed?

[identity profile] perfektsymmetry.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Just how much has past. [He points everything out as he talks.] The big hand counts minutes, and the smaller hand in there does seconds. You start it with this button, and stop and reset it with this one.

[Fiddles with the buttons for a bit]

I've never seen anything like this before...

I guess a lot of the stuff here is pretty new to you, eh? You come from pretty far in the past from here, right? I'm from its future... by about 60 years or so, actually.

[identity profile] wolf-faerie.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The past...I suppose I do. I don't really understand how, though.

60 years...?

I don't know how they do it either. All these people from all different times and from all over... the universe. Universes? Ha, it's a bit beyond me.

Right. It was 2010 where I was, and this is sometime in the late 1950s here.
