Um. Hello all. I uh... I hope you're all doing well considering the recent events. I know everyone's been having a tough time. I want to apologize for anyone I may have intruded on! I can assure you it wasn't my fault, it was one of the, um, curses from the town that was causing it.

I was wondering something. Does anyone out there know magic well enough to be able to teach it? I... I think considering the circumstances, it should be something I should be learning, so maybe I can better understand what's going on in this town. I'm used to people with powers and abilities that are supernatural but... I think magic is different than what I am used to.

Uh, I'm afraid I can't offer much in return.... but I'd be willing to help anyone out any way I can. Even if it's just something mundane like mowing you lawn or the like. [He chuckles a bit tiredly.]

Oh, er, well, I don't think I am? I wouldn't know really. They don't really have it where I'm from, it's more like... psychic abilities. I don't have any but many people do. My best friend has command over shadows, like his father does. Another friend of mine is super strong! And another has a sort of... technological gift, where he can, uh, communicate with machinery. It's hard to explain, I think.


I more want to learn how how it works, the history behind it, things like that. I.... don't think I'd be able to cast it, right?

Oh... Well if you're not already, I'm not sure what I can do about teaching how to use it... You're either born with or without it, in my world. I don't think there's ever been a case of someone who couldn't use it suddenly being able to.

I'm more than willing to help you with the rest, though.

Ah. I was wondering if it was something like that. [He sounds disappointed.] The powers I described... people are born with those too. You either have it or you don't, simple as that.

Well... more I'd just like an understanding of how it works? Or what kind of spells have what kind of affect? I just think that... maybe that's the sort of angle we need to take with Mayfield. If we ever want to try and understand what is going on and how it all works...

Ah! Margot and I have been thinking of that! We've got a couple of theories and, certainly, if there are spells going on, it's of the illegal variety. Well. I mean. Of course it would be, but with the taking of free will and... you know what I mean.

A-ah. Well. I am sorry, it was all a very strange situation. Every time I entered a room I'd be teleported to another. But turns out that it was connected to the item Mayfield sent to me... Did anything weird like that happen to you?

Uh... I got back my cape, and every time I tried to walk, it'd wrap itself around my legs and I kept falling. Every time it did that, it became more and more difficult to take the cape off.

I'll be sure to do that. Though I had to call in someone who could help since I waited and it didn't seem like you were going to show up.

Crests. Normal humans can't use magic, but with crests, anybody can.
