Ah, Halloween is coming up soon, as most of you know by now. Monday, to be precise. Is anyone planning on having a costume party? I would recommend doing it before Halloween. The, um, strange things in Mayfield have a tendency to happen on holidays, though not always. Last year, it was a few days after Halloween...

I suppose this means I should think of some costume ideas. I-I'm not very good at this sort of thing, though.

Action: The trees in town have turned lovely colors now, so Crowe's out to get some photos. If you're a the park, there will be a kid out with a 50s camera taking a lot of snap shots. He may approach you and ask if he can take a photo, as well, especially if he doesn't know you. He claims it's for a project of his - you're free to think what you want about that, but he seems honest enough.

[Phone call, filtered from NPCs:]

Homecoming, eh? Amazing how fast the summer goes in this town... This was my second one here, too.

Ah, right. The purpose of this call. Um... does anyone out there teach piano? Outside of school, I mean. I-I think I need... tutoring I guess. Um, I don't know what I could offer in return. Maybe chores or something? Let me know.

[Action 1: Crowe is in the park, kicking a soccer ball around. There wasn't a whole lot of interest in blitzball, sadly, but he figured there would be more footballers around. Right now he's trying to juggle the ball with his knees, feet, shoulder and head. He's pretty good at it, having been practicing since he was a small child. Care to join or bug him?]

[ACTION: Are you new in town? Wandering around looking lost? Staring and gawking at the drones and identical houses with a growing look of dread across your face?

If so, a tall teenager will shyly approach you. He's carrying a newspaper bag, but instead of the daily news, there are pamphlets poking out. He has a quiet voice and a light Irish accent.]

Ah, um, excuse me. Couldn't help but notice that you, um, seem to be feeling your out of place. I can explain, if you's like.

[PHONE:]

Um.

N-No one's seriously considering the position of police chief, right? It's so suspicious... what if you get droned into the role, like Grad-- er, Evan Olney probably was?

[Crowe's getting sick of being depressed thanks to this town. Before he got here he was a bit more easy-going and pleasant. But since everything he's gone through here, he's become miserable, despite how he might act outwardly. Sure, he'll never stop being homesick, there's a murderer living in his house, and he spends every day getting his ass kicked by his combat trainer amongst everything else. But that doesn't mean that every once in awhile, Calleo Crowe can't have a good day!

Then suddenly that combat trainer gives him a week off and he has no idea what to do with himself. He remembers how mad Jecht was when Crowe asked for some time off, so it's a bit odd that Jecht would suddenly take off like that. Better not question it though.

So, what will Crowe be doing with vacation? Anything he damn well pleases. He really misses going on hikes and climbs and other outdoorsy things, and since Mayfield lacks wilderness he'll be spending almost all of his time at the park, as usual. Things he'll be up to:

- climbing up trees in the park. He was always good at climbing, and he's astounded by how much stronger he's gotten since he started his training. It's almost effortless. He'll be looking for the tallest trees in town to conquered. Maybe one's in your backyard.

- playing basketball. He's never really tried it, and he doesn't really know what he's doing. Considering how tall he his, he figures he should give it a try. By, he can't do much more than practice freethrows and jumpshots alone. He manages to actually jump up and dunk a few on occasion, looking pleased with himself. Care to join/mock/interrupt?

- hanging out at the library, doing his best to get books on detectives and investigation, both fiction and non-fiction. It's hard to find anything in the library since it tailors itself to each person's stereotype, so he'll be looking for help.

- ever the night owl, Crowe's out on the town after dark too. He usually doesn't stay at his own home, feeling way too uncomfortable to sleep there thanks to Mukuro and the droned Sniper. Mukuro was acting like a drone - like a very, very weird drone - but Crowe wasn't buying it. And Sniper trying to act like his dad was almost worse, somehow. So, Crowe will be camping out at the park. He's got himself a small tent, sleeping bag and lantern. His cat is curled up next to him on a pillow as he reads his library books.

- and of course, your papers are always delivered on a timely rate every morning!

During all of these though, he seems a bit distracted. He's got a lot on his mind lately and often drifts into thought. Sometimes the basketballs are thrown way over the hoop, or a newspaper hits your window. Or possibly you.

[A contemplative call is put forth to all non-drones.]

...Several people here have told me I need to relax more. [sigh] I can't argue with that. Mayfield's been... stressful. But that's just the thing. How can you relax here? Knowing that anytime, God know what might happen to us. I feel if I slack off, I'm only hurting myself. I need to be ready for anything... right?

But I know being so tightly wound lately isn't helping me much, either. [This was almost mumbled, as if he doesn't want to admit it.] So Mayfield, I'm asking you, what do you do to relax here? School being over will be a big help for now, but I still have so much going on...

Oh, while I'm at it... I was wondering if there was anyone out there who did, um, investigative research. Detective work. That sort of thing? Because... I was wondering if anyone out there who did would be willing to take on a student for the summer.

[He sounds nervous at the end there. After all, he's forsaking his criminal heritage to possibly work with the other side of the law. What would his parents think?]

Ah. C-coach, I was wondering if it was okay if I took a week or two off from training. I am not quitting, I promise that. But... I need some decompression time.

[Call filtered to all non-drones]

Um. Hello all. I uh... I hope you're all doing well considering the recent events. I know everyone's been having a tough time. I want to apologize for anyone I may have intruded on! I can assure you it wasn't my fault, it was one of the, um, curses from the town that was causing it.

I was wondering something. Does anyone out there know magic well enough to be able to teach it? I... I think considering the circumstances, it should be something I should be learning, so maybe I can better understand what's going on in this town. I'm used to people with powers and abilities that are supernatural but... I think magic is different than what I am used to.

Uh, I'm afraid I can't offer much in return.... but I'd be willing to help anyone out any way I can. Even if it's just something mundane like mowing you lawn or the like. [He chuckles a bit tiredly.]

Anyway! Thanks for your time, everyone. Try to take it easy.

Ah! Hello Mayfield! I hope you're all well. I uh, I just had a quick question. Is there a football team in town? Ah, the soccer type of football, I mean. Whether it's a school league or a local one...? If there isn't, would anyone be interested in forming one? I'd be glad to help teach those who might be interested! I uh, I suppose we'll need enough for at least two teams, since we can't play against other towns....

Uh, anyway, I hope I can get some information. It... it would be nice to having something normal to do around here... thank you for your time!
